Y-Justice Project: Transforming Lives

Y-Justice

This program aims to impact youth between the ages of 13-19 who are at high-risk and vulnerable. There are four key program elements under the banner of Y-Justice namely Life Skill, Transformative Masculinity, Social Advocacy and the Digital Cafe

Life Skills: Focused on developing young people at school level, to improve their decision making skills as well as develop young leaders who are able to become better examples for other young people in the future.

Transformative Masculinity: The Masculinity Life Skills course is a comprehensive behavior change approach that concentrates on the  development of the skills needed for life skills such as communication, decision–making, thinking,  managing emotions, assertiveness, self–esteem building, resisting peer pressure, critical and innovative  thinking, and relationship skills. Additionally, it addresses the important related issues of empowering  young males and guiding them towards new values. The sessions are grouped according to basic life skills  concepts and there are loose categories where there is a fair deal of overlap among them but it’s  important to note that the program moves beyond providing information.

Social Advocacy: The advocacy program is a program focused on developing young people into active citizens of their community, having the ability to influence duty bearers and others in authority. Young people are actively engaged and empowered as Changemakers, understanding concepts like, Subject to Citizen, advocacy and also Human Rights of youth.

Digital Cafe: The Digital Cafe is a project that is focused on giving young people opportunities for soft skills development. These trainings are to help individuals create more opportunities for themselves in terms of employment, both entrepreneurial as well as seeking out jobs.
